Shopsplit can help to save money and cut the grocery bill. We have collected a number of examples below how to compare grocery prices fast and how to find savings in online orders.
Shopsplit AI finds opportunities to cut the grocery bill by replacing products with cheaper variants, products on promotion or if none of that is possible then will look for potential substitutes and alternative options. How good the match is represented by different colours: green for no brainer saving opportunity, yellow for potential substitute:
Matching products and variants
The products marked with a green arrow are the same as the one on the original shopping list, except sold by an other supermarket or represent different size or packaging. For example in case we replace 2 x 500g with 1 x 1kg. It is a no brainer to replace these products and cut the cost, though of course need to consider the logistics aspects as well, ie. if additional home delivery slots are available or if can spare the time to collect the products from a different shop.
Substitute products
Products marked with Yellow are not an exact match, similar products or alternative options. It may be different brand, variant or flavour. This is not as straight forward suggestion as the green category since depending on individual preferences, brand loyalty and other factors. While some of us would accept certain products as replacements, others wouldn’t, therefore we use yellow arrows to highlight these suggestions require a review. If you use 
regularly, your previous choices are also taken into account and you do not need to make the same decisions over and over again.
Complete Shopping List
Here we share a short shopping list where was able compare grocery store prices and recommended substitutes. As a result successfully identified approx 25% savings, 9 GBP out of 37 GBP.
Split: the original Ocado shopping list is split into two lists here. Some products are replaced by a different Ocado product, others have cheaper variants at Tesco.
Replacements: Of course not all products have replacements as the original product may be already the best option or the user has declined the alternatives and decided to keep the original products.
Speed: Save Time not only cost ! imported the products and match & split created the savings report within 3 minutes after the original Ocado order was submitted and no need to compare supermarkets manually.
